The BAPI BLE Scanner app is used to scan environments for BLE devices. The app displays these devices along with basic information about them including their signal strength. The app allows users to test their environments specifically to see if BAPI's BLE sensors will work and where they should be place to have a strong connection. The app also provides a proximity view that is based on the RSSI values. The app could be set to only show BAPI devices or all devices.
I was the UI/UX designer for this application. Not only did I design the entire UI but, I also helped create the entire user journey for this product. This was a unique application because the process included multiple steps outside the application. Users had to order the hardware, perform the survey and then in some cases submit the survey to us for validation. I helped design and document this entire process and also worked closely with product managers and stake holders to ensure requirements were met.
Since this process had multiple steps, it was vital to keep each step simple to follow. We started at the beginning with the customer journey to finding our wireless sensors. Then, we walked through the process step by step, documenting potential pain points in the process including things like internet access when surveying their site and submitting their results. When complete, we tested the entire process with beta users who provided additional feedback before we launched.
